About

The Department of Philosophy was established in the year 2015. Initially the Department was run by some learned retired University and College teachers as guest faculty and qualified contractual teachers. Dr. Tapan Talukdar, Assistant Professor rendered service as the Course Coordinator from August 2015 to December 2015 and again from July 2016 to August 2019. Mr. Rituttom Bora rendered service as Assistant Professor from August 2015 to August 2016 and served as Course Coordinator from January 2016 to June 2016. Dr. Papori Baruah, Dr. Pranita Devi, Dr. Joyashree Deka, Dr. Paramita Chaudhary served in the department as Guest Faculty. In the year 2019, one Associate Professor and three Assistant Professors joined in the Department as permanent faculty. The Department is presently offering M.A. degree, M. Phil and Ph. D degree programme in Philosophy. A certificate course on Comparative Religion Studies is also going to start from this academic year.
